The syllabus is based on the requirements of the state standards of public education\u201d, and the alternative education program of the educational complex. The basis of the syllabus is project-based learning, as well as the educational calendar of the educational complex and the topics arising from the subject requirements of the English language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allocated hours per week: 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The aim<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The teaching of English in the 9th grade is aimed at the learner\u2019s oral and written communication, intercultural understanding, communicating with non-Armenian speaking people, getting to know the civilization and culture of other countries and peoples, assimilating their best values \u200b\u200band expressing them in Armenian, as well as making the Armenian culture accessible to other peoples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Promoting self-learning and self-development capabilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Analysis of the learning process, selection of self-education methods and evaluation of their effectiveness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Confidence in one\u2019s own abilities and life, ability to self-evaluate, striving for self-knowledge<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 IT skills development and media literacy. Correct and harmless selection of sites and skill in using them. Distance education skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Analytical, critical and creative thinking, open and unbiased approach to the new, cognitive and creative approach to solving vital problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Ability to make free and independent decisions, implement them and be responsible for the consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development of communicative awareness according to the CEFR levels of English proficiency in 4 aspects of verbal activity: listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension, and writing. (A2-B1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>General pedagogical approaches<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Foreign language teaching is carried out according to the principles of project-based student-centered learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Creation of teacher-learner, learner-learner situational dialogues, search for meaning. Publications of students\u2019 English assignments and project research works are made available to classmates, teachers of other subjects, parents, community, and generally open to anyone with an Internet connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The materials published in the learner\u2019s blog provide an opportunity to see the growth of the learner\u2019s knowledge and abilities during the different years of study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A teacher\u2019s blog becomes the most effective way to share experiences with other teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 A school website and learning project blogs enable both the teacher and the learner to transform from content consumers to content creators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 The blog becomes an effective distance learning tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Thanks to the use of educational blogs, project-based learning, and personal computers, effective teaching of English is carried out for students studying in the same class, but with different prior knowledge and language abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developing English communication skills through monthly Flash Mobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the High School of the understand basic facts and events<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 To be able to understand the most important information of the listening material that relates to everyday life issues<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 To understand the main meaning of a cartoon, a video with a familiar theme and to give a short summary about it, expressing one\u2019s own opinion as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Understand the main content of television or radio reports, short audio recordings about everyday events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activities developing listening comprehension skills with ICT means.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Learners listen to recordings from the new British Council website on their home computers&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org\/\">http:\/\/learnenglishteens.britishcouncil.org\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Learners start to do the listening exercises on&nbsp;<a
